Back to School Celebration

Sunday, September 9th

Sunday, September 9th, is our Back to School Family Celebration.

The day will begin with Family Mass at 10:00AM in the Chapel.  There will be a special blessing at Mass in honor of Grandparents.

After Mass, families will be directed to the Activity Center where hospitality will be served.  Parents and children can visit and get re-acquainted.  There will also be information available about after-school activities.

A Volunteer Table will be set up in the Activity Center for you to sign up for different organizations such as our new Family & School Association. Organizations are an important way of having parental involvement and serving the needs of our school and students.  Let’s all work together for the benefit of all our students!

The celebration will conclude at 1:00pm.

All are welcome, we hope to see everyone there!

Catholic Schools Special Broadcast

Dear School Leaders,

Today, the Archdiocese of Chicago released a video message featuring Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, and Sr. Jean Dolores Schmidt speaking in support of tax credit scholarships. Cardinal Cupich and Sister Jean, as she is affectionately known on the campuses of Loyola University Chicago where she serves as chaplain of the men’s basketball team, have teamed up to encourage more donations to the tax credit scholarship program.

The video message from Cardinal Cupich and Sr. Jean is available on archchicago.org and the Archdiocese’s YouTube channel. Cardinal Cupich and Sister Jean encourage more people to consider donating to a scholarship granting organization, which as you know, receives donations, processes scholarship applications and distributes scholarships to eligible students. To date, more than 44,000 Illinois students have applied for a tax credit scholarship. The demand for scholarships vastly outweighs the available funds. Four of five students who applied will not receive a scholarship, unless more individuals and corporations come forward to donate. There are more than $55 million in tax credits still available as part of this program.

Please feel free to post the video message from Cardinal Cupich and Sister Jean on your website, social media channels and share it via email with your school families, faculty and staff. Also, please be sure to tune in to CBS/WBBM Radio (105.9 FM and 780 AM) and WGN Radio (720 AM) over the next few weeks to hear a message from Cardinal Cupich and Sister Jean regarding tax credit scholarships.

If you have any questions regarding the video or radio advertisements, please contact Anne Maselli at amaselli@archchicago.org.

Yours in Christ,

Jim Rigg, Ph.D.
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
