Dear St. Ferdinand School Families,

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Ms. Denise Akana will be the next principal of St. Ferdinand School effective July 1, 2016.

An extensive search was conducted to identify a principal who would advance the mission of St. Ferdinand Parish School.  A search committee comprised of parents, teachers, the school board president, and a parish representative met with the qualified candidates to find a leader who will continue to enrich the minds and nourish the spirits of our students. From the interviews, a clear candidate was identified who possessed the qualifications and skills that will elevate St. Ferdinand Parish School and enhance our current programming.

We are excited to introduce Ms. Akana as the principal for the 2016-2017 school year. Ms. Akana comes to us after serving as principal for 14 years at St. Pascal School. In addition to her time at St. Pascal School, Ms. Akana taught at St. Josaphat and St Luke Parish Schools. Her teaching experience includes preschool through 8th grade.

Ms. Akana shared, “I look forward to continuing to meet the academic and spiritual needs of the St. Ferdinand students. I am aware of the standard of excellence the community has come to expect. We will work together to carry on that tradition.”

We look forward to beginning this new chapter at St. Ferdinand Parish School.

Sincerely,

Fr. Jason Torba
